Hometown Eats: The Coffee Grinder in Pulaski

By  |

PULASKI, Va. (WDBJ7) If you're not looking for it, it is easy to miss. But for those living in Pulaski, The Coffee Grinder has become a popular hangout spot to get great drinks and food.

“Amanda is the best," said Kerri Altis, a regular here. "We love her coffee and she always has something different with the baked goods.”

Amanda Hash is the owner of The Coffee Grinder. She's helping to fill a big void in the small town Pulaski.

"I try to come up with different things all the time, so I don’t like to repeat a lot of items,” Hash said.

“She would not make something she would not eat herself," said Jessica Perfater, another regular here. "So if she tries it and she loves it, then she thinks somebody else is going to love it.”

One of the items people can't seem to get enough of is a sandwich named after Amanda -- the Amanwhich.

You take freshly baked sourdough bread and stuff it with cheddar cheese, turkey and pesto.

"You wouldn't think it but man does it work," said WDBJ7's Josh Birch.

And don't forget to get some of the drink creations here. Hash uses some of the best coffee beans possible, roasted locally in Sugar Grove, Virginia.

The Coffee Grinder is located at 51 E Main St, Pulaski, VA 24301.

Their phone number is (540) 838-9365.
