Appalachian Power customers have power back in Roanoke area

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) UPDATE: Appalachian Power reports customers had power back by about 4:30 a.m. Monday, and says only the outage was "equipment-related."

ORIGINAL STORY: There are approximately 1,700 Appalachian Power customers without power in the Roanoke area, according to Teresa Hall, a spokesperson for Appalachian Power.

Hall says a technician is patrolling the circuit looking for the source of the problem and there is no estimated time of having power restored.

She confirms the outage has not appeared on the Appalachian Power outage map.
