19 killed due to tainted alcohol, Costa Rican officials say

(WDBJ7) -- The Coasta Rican Health Ministry of Health confirmed at least 19 people have died due to the consumption of tainted alcohol.

The Ministry of Health announced on Friday, between the months of June and July, it is suspected that at least 19 people have died due to methanol poisoning deaths. Of the deaths, 14 are men and five are women between the ages of 32 and 72.

Government officials have since seized 30,00 containers of alcohol including: Guaro Montano, Guaro Gran Apache, Aguardiente Star, Red Baron Schnapps, Aguardiente Timbuka and Aguardiente Molotov.
