ORIGINAL STORY:
The Henry County Sheriff's Office is still searching for a 17 year old male responsible for killing Eric Barksdale, 32.
Police were called 1648 Rivermont Height Road in Martinsville Saturday night. Once they arrived, officals found Barksdale lying on the front porch with two gunshot wounds.
Camille Daniels, Barksdale's fiance, says the suspect is a family member who was visiting their house. Barksdale asked him to keep quiet while their children were sleeping. The argument continued outside where the suspect shot Barksdale then fled the scene.
Daniels says this all happened right in front of their 4 year old daughter, who woke up during the argument. She found the child traumatized on the couch in the living room.
"She’s sleep walking and reenacting what she saw and the only thing she can say is so and so shot my daddy and he’s dead." said Daniels.
Daniels tells us that Barksdale was a loving father of their kids and was often give teens free studio time to work on music.
"It’s a lot that I lost it’s a lot the kids lost. They lost a wonderful dad who never missed a doctor's appointment or anything." added Daniels.
