ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) -- When it comes to packing lunch for the kids, or even for yourself, it can be hard to get creative.
Wellness educator Cathy Dick joined us Tuesday to share some ideas for how to change things up for healthy, and easy, lunches!
Dick said food can either be healing, or cause illness. A variety of colorful foods is key to supporting our overall health.
Some easy ways to prepare include pre-planning by washing and prepping veggies, cooking proteins and sides, and then mixing and matching for every meal.
Here's the recipe for the dip made by Cathy Dick on 7@four:
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 juice of lemon
- 1 tsp. dried dill (or 1 tbsp. fresh, chopped)
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- Add all ingredients to a small bowl and stir until combined
- Serve with a variety of fresh cut vegetable
- Store in air tight contain or jar in the refrigerator for up to one week
