UPDATE: Police identify 87-year-old killed by motor vehicle in Danville

Police have identified the 87-year-old man who was struck and killed by a motor vehicle as Eugene Field Moorefield Jr., of Danville.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.

Danville Police say that an 87-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle yesterday evening.

Police say they received the call at 6:15 p.m. from the 1500 block of Westover Driver.

Investigators say the vehicle was traveling west on Westover Drive when a pedestrian walked in front of the vehicle.

When crews arrived they found witnesses had started giving CPR on the pedestrian.

He was transported to SOVH where he was later pronounced dead.

This crash is still under investigation at this time.
