A dozen students accepted to college at HBCU fair

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) A dozen students were accepted to college onsite at a college fair. The Roanoke Chapter of the Hampton Alumni Association hosted it's first Historically Black College and University Fair. Several schools like Howard University, Norfolk State, and North Carolina A-&-T conducted onsite interviews and acceptance for high school seniors. The goal of the fair was to give students the chance to talk with recruiters and distinguished alumni.

"I would recommend it to everybody, even people that aren't seniors because it's good exposure," said DaiJah Thomas, a William Fleming High School senior. "It's something to look forward to. So you know what to do and what to expect for college, senior year is stressful. If I would've had this advice before, then I would've never been stressful this year."

More than 200 attendees were able to obtain scholarship and college application information.
