Lanes beginning to reopen along Route 29-Business in Amherst County after power outage

AMHERST Co., (WDBJ7) -- UPDATE:
Northbound lanes of Route 29 business have reopened, but the southbound lanes remain closed there.

Amherst County Public Safety stated that all lanes along Route 29 Business are shut down from Dillard Road to Woodys Lake Road due to a power outage.

The power outage was caused by power pole damage that left live wires along the roadway.

Traffic is being detoured from Dillard to Route 130 then back on to Route 29 Business. Schools have been notified.

The public safety office is unsure of how long clean up will take.
