DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) An army of 48 people have descended on Danville to work on 17 home improvement projects this week.
This is the third year the national organization, United Methodist ARMY has spent a week in Danville.
Kids from sixth grade, all the way up to adults help out this week with landscaping, and construction projects.
The organization is travelling to 10 states this summer to do projects.
The camp director says Danville is one city they will continue to work with for years to come.
"The people that we have met, working in these different homes over the years have just been wonderful, just wonderful people," says U.M. ARMY Camp Director, Darlene Thomas.
The volunteers pay for everything themselves, and a local church provides housing for the week.
