Artist's tribute to Orlando victims creates tears, conversations in Roanoke's Market Square
One artist's tribute to the Orlando victims created tears and conversations in Roanoke's Market Square.
Walt Boyle's display was laid out for most of the day Wednesday.
It includes 49 silhouettes representing each person and information about their lives.
Boyle says he hopes to create an emotional connection between the public and the victims.
“What has gotten me the most is to see parents trying to explain this to their kids. What does a kid have to know about this piece of humanity. As adults, we're trying to figure it out,” Boyle said.
The display had to be picked up this afternoon as rain moved in.
