ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Author Beth Macy continued to report on the opioid crisis after the release of her book 'Dopesick.' This week, Audible released a new podcast based on her work.
In her book, Macy followed a young woman named Tess Henry, who struggled with addiction. The book ended with her murder in Las Vegas.
Since then, Macy and Tess Henry's mother Patricia Mehrmann traveled to Las Vegas to learn more about Henry's life and death there.
"It's really about Patricia's search for closure," Macy said in a recent interview with WDBJ7. "Although she doesn't quite get the closure she wanted, she does get some closure and clues, what happened to Tess."
The podcast, 'Finding Tess: A Mother's Search for Answers in a Dopesick America,' is available now on Audible.
