Authorities arrest three stemming from pipeline protests in Elliston

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7)-- Three people have been arrested in connection with protests this morning along a Mountain Valley Pipeline work site in Montgomery County.

Authorities responded to an organized protest in Elliston along Cove Hollow Road Saturday in opposition to the continuous development of the MVP in the region. During the event, three protesters were arrested and brought in on three different individual charges of unlawful rioting, obstruction, and assault on law enforcement.

No injuries have been reported.
