Authorities have recovered a body along the James River in Bedford County, according to the Deputy Chief of Big Island Volunteer Fire Company.
Officials could not confirm the identity or gender of the body found.
It is not yet clear how long the body was there.

The Bedford County Sheriff's Office, Bedford County Special Operations Command, and the Big Island Volunteer Fire Company are on scene at a boat ramp on Riverside Circle in Big Island.
A team is in the James River on a boat and appears to be searching for something.
