Authorities release description of two men in Lynchburg-area Waffle House robberies

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Update 11:20 a.m.:
Authorities have released a description of the suspects who are believed to be involved in multiple Waffle House robberies in Bedford and Campbell County.

Lynchburg Police said two men entered the business and demanded money. One of the men displayed a handgun during the robbery. After retrieving an undisclosed amount of cash, the two then left the area on foot.

One man was described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a camouflage mask, black pants and gray shoes.

The other man was described as wearing a black Nike hooded sweatshirt with a white swoosh logo on the front, a black mask, black pants and gray shoes.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call the Lynchburg Police Department at (434) 455-6102.

According to Campbell County Dispatch, police are on scene of a robbery at the Waffle House on Timberlake Road.

Dispatch says the robbery was reported Monday around 1:18 a.m.

At 1:30 a.m., another robbery was reported at the Waffle House on Route 221 in Bedford County.

Officials have not said if they believe these two robberies are related.

This is an ongoing investigation.
