SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Authorities are searching for information after a Halifax man was shot Tuesday night in South Boston.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., the Halifax County 911 center received a call reporting shots being fired in the Jeffress Boulevard/Broad Street area of South Boston, according to a news release. Shortly afterward, sheriff’s officers were dispatched to Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital after a report of a man in the emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound.
Upon arriving, officers found a 26-year-old man who had received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. Officers also responded to the scene where the incident reportedly took place, and collected evidence linking the man’s injury to the shots fired report, the release stated.
