The Criminal Justice Club at Averett University is helping those in need.

Following the destructive path of Hurricane Matthew, students say it's important give whatever you can to those who need it the most.

Wearing shirts that read, One Team, One Family, One Averett; this club will be collecting donations for Haiti this weekend.

"And I take that say not as only in college but in the real world. In the real world we are all one family. If someone needs help we should help them if we have it because we would want the same done to us," Criminal Justice Club President Christine Johnson said.

The group will be at the Averett Homecoming football game this Saturday.

All donations will be given to Hope for Haiti.

"1.4 million people in Haiti need help. I understand that we are students, we don't have billions of dollars to give but we do have something to give," Johnson said.
