DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Averett University is educating students about unhealthy relationship habits through the "Red Flag Campaign."

All month long, red flags will be around campus to remind students to speak out if they notice unhealthy behavior.

The health and wellness center is holding various events like letting students design their ideal date and identifying the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships.

"A lot of times students feel that those, especially jealousy and controlling, they feel that is normal behavior, and it is, until it gets excessive," Jill Adams, the Health and Wellness director for Averett, said.

The university wants students to feel comfortable noticing red flags and speaking out if they see them.
