WARM SPRINGS, Va. (WDBJ7) UPDATE:
In a hearing on Tuesday, Darla Hise pleaded guilty to murdering her 6-year-old daughter.
The charge of first-degree murder was reduced to second-degree murder.
She will face 50 years in prison with all but 24 suspended.
This is a written plea agreement. It is still being put together for the judge to sign off.
WDBJ7 is continuing to investigate the story.
The trial of a Bath County woman accused of murdering her 6-year-old daughter has been moved to a court in Staunton after the Bath County Circuit Court was unable to seat a jury in August.
Darla Hise plead "not guilty" to six charges, including first degree murder, in the death of her 6-year-old daughter Abigail, but the trial was not able to proceed after 10 hours of trying to find a jury to hear the case in Bath. Judge Mike Irvine declared a mistrial and granted a change of venue.
On September 13, a new lawyer, Suni Mackall of WInchester, was appointed to defend Hise after she requested a change in counsel.
No new date has been set for trial yet.
