BEDFORD Co., (WDBJ7) -- Plans to expand a Bedford County airport have been put on hold.
The Planning Commission tabled the decision at a public hearing Tuesday night.
Community members expressed concerns about the county's proposed airport district.
It would be the first in the county and would only affect the New London Airport, owned by Liberty University.
Most said they were worried about rezoning the agricultural community. "I read through this entire document and this airport district violates every single topic in this plan," said one resident during the hearing. "Every single one is violated."
The decision was tabled for 60 days.
The Planning Commission will review and make adjustments before another public hearing is scheduled.
