UPDATE: Drinking water problem corrected in Lynchburg; boil water advisory expires

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- UPDATE: 7/13/18
As of Friday, the Lynchburg Department of Water Resources says they have corrected their drinking water problem and that customers in affected areas no longer need to boil their water.

A notice to boil water for customers in the city of Lynchburg has been issued.

According to Lynchburg Water Resources, the advisory is due to waterline work in the Old Graves Mill Road area. Officials advise customers to use boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes.

The streets affected are as follows:

- Old Graves Mill Road (1300, 1200, 1100 and 1000 blocks)
- Valleydale Drive
- Tomahawk Drive
- Cobblestone Drive
- Sandbridge Court
- Bridgeton Court

Officials anticipate the issue will be resolved within 48 hours.
