Boil water notice issued due to water line break in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- The Virginia Department of Health in conjunction with the Lynchburg Health Department and City of Lynchburg Department of Water Resources has issued a boil water notice due to a water line break on Windsor Hills Drive.

According to a release from the City of Lynchburg, the notice affects customers who live on the streets of Yorkshire Circle, Nottingham Circle, Cornwallis Drive, and Chesterfield Place.

The release advises customers to use boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes until the issue is resolved. Failure to follow this advisory could result in stomach or intestinal illness, according to the release.

According to the release, officials will be flushing the water system and collecting water samples. Officials anticipate the issue to be resolved within 48 hours.
