DALEVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - Botetourt county leaders said they were shocked when they heard the news Tuesday that Ballast point taproom and restaurant will close at the end of this month.

But Botetourt County Supervisor member and vice-chairman, Mac Scothorn, said he plans to talk to Constellation Brands, alongside other leaders, about their decision.

"Our citizens, I agree with them, they're upset, its something that's brought them to the community. The other thing that has happened is that other citizens from other communities have come into Botetourt County," said Scothorn.

Scothorn could not say how much revenue Ballast Point has added to Botetourt County over the last two years, but he said it was a destination.

The conversations between the board of supervisors members and Constellation Brands will take place over the next few days.
