ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Carilion is another organization preparing for this weekend's snow storm.
Carilion's dispatch center--the Center for Transfer Communications-- is filled with workers monitoring screens and technology to keep track of patients.
Carilion has an Incident Command Team that has been working for a week before the storm, where Carilion leaders are coming together to see how the storm is going to impact operations.
Craig Bryant, Director of Emergency Management and Safety at Carilion Clinic, said, "The Incident Command Team looks at areas that are very important to our system, which is our resources, our supplies, our staffing, and really, our safety of our operations to bring patients in and out of the Carilion system."
The team will also assess if transportation is safe for patients.
