ROANOKE CO., Va. (WDBJ7) UPDATE:
The Roanoke County Police Department says the modified lockdown at Cave Spring High School has been lifted.
Police say they have not been able to verify that a threatening social media message existed.
Officials say students attending BCAT will return to the high school.
As a precaution, police say they will maintain an increased presence at the high school for the rest of the school day.
The incident is still under investigation.
Chuck Lionberger with Roanoke County Schools confirmed that Cave Spring High School is on modified lockdown.
He says it's from an unverified report of a threat on social media.
Alerts are being sent to parents.
