Charges pending after student allegedly brought knife to school

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Charges are pending after a student at Sandusky Middle School in Lynchburg allegedly brought a knife to school.

Police received a report of a knife being brought to school on Thursday, and after a school resource officer received the initial information, the student and the knife were located with out incident, according to a news release from Lynchburg police.

There was no safety threat, and no one was hurt, the release added.

Charges for possessing a knife on school property are pending, and the investigation is still ongoing.
