Could the conflict between North Korea and South Korea be coming to an end? Recent headlines suggest that may be possible, and some college students from in the region may get to experience the peace process first hand.

A group of students and professors from the Roanoke College history department group will travel to the Korean peninsula for a three-week research project. Students will explore how North Korean refugees are adjusting South Korea. The opportunity is a big honor for Roanoke College. Roanoke College was one of eight institutions chosen by the Asian Network to conduct research.

"I hope students from Roanoke College care more about global issues," said Professor Stella Xu. "I think this is a perfect opportunity to get more sensitive to the global issues."

Once the students return they will present their findings at an ASIAN Network Conference next May in San Diego.
