SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) - Hundreds gathered in Salem earlier to celebrate Colonial Living Day at the Salem Museum.
From leather workers to shoe masons, and old-time games, visitors got to see and touch many different artifacts from hundreds of years ago.
Actors dressed in costume and the event was for all ages.
"People really do love history whether they know it or not so this is really a great opportunity for people to come out and explore and see something on such a pretty day, we're just delighted to have such a great day and one of the best things about this event is that it's free," said Executive Director of the museum, Fran Ferguson.
There will be another free event at the museum Monday night: a speaker will talk about the Frontier Forts of Southwest Virginia.
