The Radford community continues to heal after a June 12th explosion and fire at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. The incident killed one and injured two others. Local groups held a benefit dinner and bike raise to raise money for the victims and their families.

Travis Mitchell, Andrew Goad, and Dakota Grimmett's families will split the money raised from the event. It shook the community when they learned Andrew Goad died as a result of his injuries.

Goad's family continues to heal from their sudden loss and the out pour of support brings strong emotions for them. "I know he is watching right now and he is tickled to death," said Angela Banover, Goad's cousin. "It makes me happy because of that."

"I am very proud to say I'm part of the community that we live in," said Amber Skidmore. "Everyone has come together, people from the Arsenal, people from different unions and other businesses and complete strangers are here helping us put this together."

Skidmore says they hope to raise more than $10,000, and they are still collecting donations to reach the goal.
