Couple ties the knot in Mexico Beach rubble
Law enforcement officials and first responders have been working on recovery efforts in Mexico beach since the moment Hurricane Michael passed, but one Panama City detective and one Mexico Beach firefighter took an evening off to say "I do".
"My cousin did my hair, I did my makeup from what I could remember from trial," Panama City Police Department Detective Cori Clark said.
Without a hair stylist, makeup artist, dress, or even the real ring, the couple did what they could to keep their wedding date as planned.
"We had reserved a rented beautiful two-story beach house out by the canal in Mexico Beach. The beach house is a slab and our music ended up being a speaker we brought out with us to play a song while I walked out. We did have the original photographer, Sara Lynsey, she was amazing and I feel like she really brought the moment out for us," Clark said.
The moment was shared by two people who for just a few minutes traded the sound of sirens for the sound of vows.
"I mean everything about it was just perfect. I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else," Clark said.
