When the first crews arrived on scene they found an RV fully involved in fire and parked next to a storage facility.

It took firefighters from the Vinton, Read Mountain, Mount Pleasant, North County and Hollins stations about 15 minutes to get the flames under control.

The flames spread from the RV to the storage facility, but fire crews were able to contain the fire to the closest storage unit.

That first unit sustained minor fire damage, while five other storage units had some smoke damage.

Fire investigators have confirmed that the fire originated in the RV and then spread to the storage facility.

Damage estimates have been figured at $20,000 for the RV and it is considered a total loss.

Estimated damage for the storage units and property is $35,000.

The fire was ruled accidental.

The owner of the RV suffered minor injuries trying to extinguish the flames.
