Danville man charged in Pittsylvania Co. school bus crash

PITTSYLVANIA Co., Va. (WDBJ7) -- A 67-year-old man is being charged with failure to yield after crashing into a school bus in Pittsylvania County.

Police said the crash occurred Wednesday, May 15 at 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 829 and Route 834.

Larry R. Norris, 67, of Danville is being charged with failure to yield the right of way by Virginia State Police. Norris was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Police said the school bus was driven by Billy W. Oakes, Jr. 52 of Danville, he was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.

Several children were also on board, but none were injured.
