Two Pittsylvania County men have been arrested in connection to an attempted armed robbery early Wednesday morning in Danville.
Barry Martin Jr., 22, and Teshawn Anderson, 22, were both arrested and are being held at the Danville City Jail without bond.
They are both charged with one count of attempted robbery, one count of attempted breaking and entering, and two counts of displaying a firearm.
The Danville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery that happened early Wednesday morning.
No one was hurt in either incident, and it’s not clear if they are related.
The attempted armed robbery happened around 1:47 a.m. at the Hill Top Exxon, which is at 730 Piney Forest Road.
A store clerk told police he locked the door to the business as he was taking the trash out. While doing so, he was approached by two men with guns who were wearing masks. As the clerk opened the door the alarm sounded, and the suspects took off running.
The second incident happened around 2 a.m. on North Main Street, near the intersection of North Main Street. A man and woman were walking when they were approached by two men with guns.
One of the robbers grabbed the woman’s purse and pulled her to the ground. The other robber pointed a gun at the man and stole cash from him. The victims did not require medical treatment.

On 06-01-16 at approximately 1:47 am, the clerk at the Hill Top Exxon, 730 Piney Forest Road, had locked the door to the business while he took the trash to the dumpster behind the business. As he rounded the corner of the store, he was approached by two Black males wearing masks and brandishing firearms. They directed the clerk to unlock the door, at which time the alarm sounded. Both suspects took off running North (towards the Kentucky Fried Chicken). One suspect was wearing a white hat and mask, burgundy coat, long dark colored pants and dark shoes. The other was wearing a dark hoodie, a dark mask, dark colored shorts, black and white shoes and white socks. The suspects were not located and the clerk was not injured.
On 06-01-16 at approximately 2:00am, a man and woman were walking North on North Main St. near the intersection of Church St. when they were approached by 2 Black males, both displaying handguns. The suspects told the victims to "give them what they had". One of the suspects grabbed the woman's purse and pulled her to the ground, forcing the pocketbook from her grasp. The other suspect pointed the handgun at the male victim and robbed him of cash. Both suspects fled on foot. The suspect that stole the purse is tall, in his 20's, mustache wearing a white T-shirt and jeans. He had a dark grey semi auto pistol. The other suspect was tall, in his 20's wearing a camo hoodie. The handgun that he produced appeared to be silver in color. Neither victim required medical treatment.
