ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Deputies in Alleghany County say three individuals were arrested after approximately 60 grams of crystal methamphetamine was found during a search in a Covington hotel room on Tuesday.

Deputies say the street value of the drugs is between $4,800-$6,000. About $770 was also recovered during the search.

Deputies say the three individuals arrested were said to be illegally distributing the narcotics to citizens of Covington, the County of Alleghany and the area at large.

The drug bust was preceded by multiple traffic stops that were conducted on Monday by the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office Investigations Unit.

During the traffic stops, deputies say a K-9 officer was integral in alerting authorities of the vehicles transporting drug paraphernalia. An arrest of an individual with a suspended license was made. Deputies say the individual was also in possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Another arrest of a revoked driver due to a DUI offense, who was also a convicted felon was made. The individual was also in possession of a firearm and schedule I/II drugs.
