"Fortunate for law enforcement, any time an unsolved homicide investigation is featured in the news media or on social media platforms, new tips are generated," said Capt. Greg Blankenship, Commander of the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Salem Field Office.

"We were hopeful that this latest coverage would generate new leads, but had no idea we would receive this many phone calls and emails regarding the case. It's this kind of response to this investigation that not only were we hoping for, but also need to solve it and bring to justice the individuals responsible for the murders of David and Heidi. For anyone who might have information they are still holding on to or is hesitant to share, there's still time and we still want to hear from you. The tip line is 540-375-9589 or you can send a tip via the website set up just for this case at VSPUnsolved.com."
