EARLY YEARS: Nationally known toy expert offers guidance for buying hot toys this holiday season
Black Friday is the traditional start to the holiday shopping frenzy.
If you have a child to shop for, you're probably looking for the best ways to stay on budget, all while finding those must- have toys.
And if you have teen in your household, chances are they're obsessed with Xbox.
The new Xbox Game Pass allows players to have access to over 100 games for under $10.00 a month.
What parents will like are the family friendly games it offers, along other features.
"Great family settings. So, we can talk about screen time management, purchase limits and privacy. It's all built right in," says toy industry expert Elizabeth Werner.
She says STEM- themed toys are hot right now, including Botley the Robot, which teaches kids basic coding skills.
Also popular this season, Wrapples, these interactive wearable pets.
They're also one of the more affordable trendy toys this year, with a price of less than $15.00.
We asked Werner how parents can put more popular toys under the Christmas tree without breaking the bank?
"Go online, look up the items your children are asking for and find the best price. All of the different stores and retailers are competing with one another. So, make a really good choice when out there looking and don't run to the first store."
