Facebook admits to scanning Messenger conversations for data
Facebook users, your messages may not be as private as you think.
The social media giant confirms it uses automated tools to scan messenger chats for malware links and child porn images.
It also allows users to report chats that may violate community standards.
However, Facebook says it does not listen to voice or video calls.
Facebook updated its data policy Wednesday saying it does collect content and information from users posts and messages.
Next week Facebook will be notifying users who had their data accessed by Cambridge Analytica.
The social media giant says up to 87 million users may be affected.
