CLOVER, Va. (WDBJ7) Family and friends of a missing Halifax County woman are honoring her life on the tenth anniversary of her disappearance.

Dozens gathered in Clover Saturday afternoon at a "Celebration of Remembrance" for Hattie Brown. The former Army sergeant went missing in May of 2009.

Loved ones came together at the home of Brown's sister in Clover to share memories and pray Saturday.

Brown's sister, Diane, told WDBJ7 the community's support has helped her family remain strong during the decade her loved one has been missing.

"It's a wonderful thing," Diane Brown said of the support. "To see so many people pull together, praying together. It's great support and it's what we need."

If you know anything about Brown's disappearance, you're asked to call Virginia State Police.
