ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Indian Heritage Society hosted its 12th annual Festival of India at Elmwood Park in Roanoke Sunday. Folks had the chance to enjoy and experience Indian culture, music and cuisine. You could grab a bite at one of the booths or take home your own traditional Indian clothes. Organizers say hundreds of people learned more about the culture.
"It is very important in this state of time, what we are going through all around the world to know different cultures and know different people, their habits, their literature, their music, their food, because after all, we all are together, we are brothers and sisters all around the world," Ssunny Shah, an organizer for the Festival of India, said.
There was also a live dance performance on the Elmwood Park stage.
