One treated after fire at Salem home

SALEM, Va. (WDBJ7)-- A residential structure fire broke out Tuesday evening in Salem at 6 Bowman Avenue.

According to the Salem Fire & EMS Department, fire personnel arrived within four minutes of the call and found heavy smoke leaving the building.

C-Shift crew used an attack line to contain the fire to the basement in 13 minutes.

One person was taken to LewisGale Medical Center for treatment of minor smoke inhalation, while three others were also in the home at the time and were not treated as a result of the incident.

The building did have damage from fire and smoke, according to Salem Fire-EMS.
