First annual Central Virginia Fashion Week to highlight local retailers
The first annual Central Virginia Fashion Week kicked off on Monday.
The event is presented by Let’s Talk Fashion Virginia and is partnering with the Retail Merchants Association and the Downtown Lynchburg Association.
Organizers say the purpose is to highlight the area as a shopping destination, and put the spotlight on emerging designers. “It’s a way to generate more awareness about them and give them the opportunity and platform to showcase their work and to become more known in the community,” explained Victoria Watts, the executive director of Let’s Talk About Fashion.
Fashion week will take place at local retail and event venues each day through Saturday and will feature the collections of Western Ways, Alpaca by Jaca, Divine Designs & Delights, Soho Mercantile, Frolic by Celebration, Pretty Please on Broad Boutique, Bowen Jewelry Company, The Mobile Manicurist, Shay’s Unique Gifts, Live Trendy or Die, Rue21 Lynchburg, Gladiola Girls, Stella Chic Inc, Woven Devotion, Consolidated Shoe Co, R. Hunter Collection, Crimson & Sable, Shuandesign, Joshua DeVon, Elegant & Royal Collections, Looksie Clothing and other local retailers and designers.
