Five arrested for larceny at new Bedford Middle School job site

BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Bedford County Sheriff’s Office say five people have been arrested after they stole tools from a job site.

On Monday, December 18th, the police got a report that a large number of tools stolen from the new Bedford Middle School job site.

The contractor told deputies that several tool boxes had been broken into sometimes over the weekend, and that the stolen tools had a value of $9,000.

As a result of the investigation, Bedford police arrested five people on Wednesday, December 20th, and charged them with breaking and entering and grand larceny.

They are:
• Kevin L. Thibodeau, age 20, Monroe, Va.
• Cheyanne C. Tom, age 20, Bedford, Va.
• Charles A. Murphy Jr., age 20, Bedford, Va.
• Jacob N. Desmond, age 20, Madison Heights, Va.
• Thomas S. Jerina, age 22, Madison Heights, Va.

Investigators have recovered only 25% of the stolen tools.
