BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Bedford County's former tourism director has filed a Federal lawsuit, claiming he was "improperly removed" from his position last year.

In a filing made in U.S. District Court, Gerald "Jerry" Craig claims his constitutional rights were violated. He's seeking $3 million in damages. Bedford's county administrator Carl Boggess and three supervisors are named in the suit: Curry Martin, Bill Thomasson and Steve Wilkerson.

Craig served as Bedford County's tourism director for 18 months before he was dismissed last May.
