Friendship Health, Averett University partner to offer low-cost education
A new partnership brings low-cost education to Roanoke health workers and their families.
The presidents of Friendship Health and Averett University signed papers Wednesday afternoon launching the new program.
Averett is offering discounts to Friendship's 700-plus employees -- as well as their family members -- at a time when higher education costs continue to rise.
"What we saw in this partnership was a commitment from leadership to invest in their staff, their teams and their employees, [and] to help them pursue their education," Averett University President Dr. Tiffany Franks said.
The program offers graduate and undergrad courses in Danville as well as online. The program begins immediately, though Franks would not give details about the discount amount.
