RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7)-- Funeral arrangements have been set for 3-year-old Josie Burleson, who was found dead in the New River early Wednesday morning.
According to an obituary posted online, Burleson's funeral is happening Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home and Crematory in Radford.
Her family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. before the service begins.
Burleson, who grew up in Barren Springs, will be buried in Pulaski County.
The tragic story first unfolded Tuesday evening, when Burleson was reported missing.
Deputies were told she wandered off and was last seen near the water.
More than 100 people combed the area near Rocky Road and the New River Trail well into the night before a Department of Game and Inland Fisheries team recovered her body around 1:00 a.m.
Wythe County Sheriff Keith Dunagan said Josie's mother Kimberly Dawn Moore, and a man identified as Adrian Neil Puckett were both under the influence of meth at the time.
Both adults have been charged with felony child neglect with reckless disregard for life and felony child endangerment.
