DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) One hometown high school's drama program is preparing for a trip to Scotland, but they need to raise the funds first.

George Washington High School's drama program is one of two Virginia schools selected for the Fringe Festival - one of the biggest celebrations of theater in the world.

"There were 15,000 applications and they chose little Danville. They chose it because when they said, "Tell us about your program," I said, "We're very much a family. We laugh together. We study together. We play together.," says George Washington High School Drama teacher, Dana Higginsbotham-Tickle.

The festival is next summer, and they need to raise more than $100,000 in order to go.

The drama program is accepting any donations from businesses, or individuals to help them go.
