MONTEREY, Va. (WDBJ7) Gov. Terry McAuliffe presented his last budget this morning in Richmond, and then he headed to Highland County.

He stopped by several local sites as part of his commitment to visit every county in the commonwealth before leaving office. Asked about the budget, he said he was happy with what he had been able to achieve in his four years.

"So the good news is I've fully funded all of our priorities to build that strong, new Virginia economy," He says. "And at the same time, I'm going to put about $400 million into our cash reserve and our rainy day account to make sure fiscally the most balanced budget we have ever had."

Outgoing Secretary of Agriculture Basil Gooden was also traveling with the governor.
