ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) A new memorial to Alison Parker and Adam Ward is set in stone.

Thursday morning, the Grandin Theatre installed a large engraved star carrying their names in the Walk of Fame outside the building.

Part of the theatre's recent renovations, the star is centrally located outside the box office, in an area that sees plenty of traffic.

Ian Fortier is the Executive Director of the Grandin Theatre Foundation.

"Over 70,000 people a year come to this facility," Fortier told WDBJ7, "and what better way for them to remember Alison and Adam than to look down before they come into the building and see that memorial star."

Three local businesses helped with the project. The Damon Company, B&M Sheet Metal and Miscellaneous Concrete Products all donated their services to create the sidewalk memorial.
