FERRUM, Va. (WDBJ7) There's a spot in Ferrum that has been a gathering place for decades. 77 Restaurant offers a family-like environment while serving folks in Franklin County some really good food.

“It’s just like family, and the food is just like your mom cooked many years ago,” said Larry Meadors, a regular there.

Known for their breakfasts, lunch and desserts, 77 Restaurant will surely have something you crave. They use tried and true recipes that are a hit. They've even been using the same frying pan for eggs for decades.

"If we had a nickel for every time we cooked an egg in that fry pan we’d be rich. We could all retire,” said Martha Dalton.

When you're talking about lunch, there are two standouts. First, a burger called the little giant, that isn't little at all. It's about half a pound, topped with whatever you want.

"It tastes like its real ground beef versus a fast food hamburger,” said Carolyn Walker.

Another hit is the steak and cheese, topped with peppers, onions and mushrooms.

"Nothing fancy, just good ol’ fashion southern cooking," said WDBJ7's Josh Birch.

But perhaps the biggest hit at 77 Restaurant is the homemade desserts, which range from pumpkin pie to an unbelievable chocolate pie.

77 Restaurant is at 4477 Timber Line Rd, Ferrum, VA 24088. Their phone number is (540) 365-7197.
