Jefferson Forest high school announces new head football, girls basketball coach

BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Jefferson Forest High School (JFHS) announced its new head varsity football and girls basketball coach Friday afternoon.

Paul White will serve as JFHS new head football coach and Jake Whitman will serve as the new head girl's basketball coach.

White, the former assistant coach at Ferrum College has 25 years of experience as an assistant or head coach at the high school and collegiate level. He also was a two-time Tidewater District Coach of the Year and a Region "A' Coach of the year.

For the past two years, Whitman served as the assistant girl's varsity basketball coach Whitman began coaching in basketball in 2013 as the JV boys' basketball coach. He has coached in multiple capacities at JF since 2013 and is also a special education teacher at Forest Middle School.

White and Whitman's beginning date has not been announced yet.
