LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) Lexington's Jordan's Point dam is coming down this week.
Contractors for the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries began chipping away at the one-hundred-year-old structure this afternoon, starting several days of work.
They plan to remove the center area of the dam, leaving sections on either side of the river.
D.G.I.F. is removing the dam at no cost to the city of Lexington.
